The Bahrain World Trade Center (Bahrain WTC) is a 240m tall twin tower complex located in proximity to King Faisal Highway, and is ranked the second tallest building in Bahrain, following the twin towers of Bahrain Financial Harbour. The towers were built in 2008 by Atkins, the multinational architectural firm. This is also the first skyscraper in the world to incorporate wind turbines in its design.

The two towers are linked by three sky-bridges, each holding a 225kw wind turbine, totaling 675kw wind power production. The sail-shaped buildings on either side help to funnel wind through the gap, creating an S-shaped flow, which increases their potential to generate electricity. It is said that the wind turbines contribute to 11 to 15 percent of the total power consumption of the towers’.
